Lemnos, The Island You Easily Fall In Love With
I first came to Lemnos on August 2011.
From the first time the island made a great impression on me for its special landscape and its unique beauty.
Although back then I was quite fresh at photography, I managed to take some photos that I liked a lot.
It takes much longer for one to discover all of the magic of the island,
but just a moment to fall in love with.

For this and for other reasons I came back in the summer of ’15,
rather more experienced and with heavier equipment in my camera bag.
This time I even stayed for longer,
which allowed me to photograph much more thoroughly
certain phenomena of the island.
Of course it takes much longer for one to discover all of the magic of the island,
but just a moment to fall in love with.
In a small collection I have my favorite photos.
If conditions permit I hold with me much more material that
I would like to share with you.
For the time being I leave you with a sweet summer nostalgia,
with an aroma of Lemnos.
Sand Dunes
…where the desert whistles songs of the wind…
The more deserted the landscape, the more beautiful in my eyes
Lemnos is certainly the paradise of the Geologist
But of the artist too
The island is characterised by grand picturesqueness
I especially liked the many little churches
It’s like God created a magical place
A place where legends come alive
A place that seems forgotten by time and civilization
But has continuous history of 6,000 years
Residents remain friendly and generous and accommodate modern Argonauts with gifts
The land is rich and vibrant
Many come to Limnos to play in its beautiful waters
Others to explore its endless beaches
Everyone agrees that its sunsets are unmatched
And Limnos a special island
Even though I have been around most of Europe
I hope to return very soon in Lemnos
Because, as one of Kallipetis says: «“Wherever I go, I always go back here, where I go and where I always go here”.»
